Creative Access resource

This project was conducted alongside the National Museum Cardiff & individuals with visual impairments. The process began by receiving a talk from a person with a visual impairment about the elements that they find most effective when accessing a piece of artwork.  We then selected a piece of work from the museums permanent collection, for which I chose the artwork Laura Hughes by Hugh Hughes. I chose this artwork as I believed that this would work very effectively with my own art style as I had recently been experimenting with casting doll heads with plaster and clay & believed that this process could bring this art form to a new level. Once the artwork was completed, we held an exhibition within the museum for a small group of individuals with visual impairments where they were able to explore the various creative access resources in full. The access resources are currently on display on the second floor of the museum but will eventually be incorporated into the access trolley for the gallery.
